12/27-29 - LIT for the Holidays Exhibit at Read House & Gardens, 11am-4pm.
‘Delaware's Changing Winter Landscapes’ is a museum-wide exhibit featuring works from the collections of the DE Historical Society, the New Castle community, and the Washington Society of Landscape Painters. It showcases local winter scenes from the 1800s to today, asking how best to steward DE’s landscapes for future generations.

1/5 - Twelfth Night Candlelight Concert at Immanuel on the Green, 6pm.
Part of the Immanuel Concert Series, featuring Philip Moore’s 2022 composition Nativitas, which features poems by David Broadbridge interspersed with organ selections, musing on the mystery and joy of Christmas, in a church lit only by candlelight.
1/9 - Movie Magic: Conclave, New Castle Public Library, 6:30pm.
Screening of the 2024 film about a cardinal who is tasked with leading the selection of a new Pope, only to find himself at the center of a conspiracy that could shake the very foundation of the Catholic Church. (PG, 120 min.)1/11 - Diamond Swing Jazz Performance, Zollie’s Jazz Cucina, 6:30pm.

Program allowing 6th—12th graders to gain work experience, develop leadership skills and earn service hours. By attending, participants will gain one volunteer hour. More details / Registration (required).
1/19 - The Trial of Thomas Garrett, NC Court House Museum, 12pm.
Participants may take roles and join in the reenactment of the historic trial of Thomas Garrett, a white abolitionist and leader in the Underground Railroad movement, who was prosecuted in this very courthouse in 1848 for violating the Fugitive Slave Act.1/22 - DE Public Archives: Tales from the Vault, NC Public Library, 6pm.
Presentation from the DPA telling four unique spooky stories directly from their vaults, including tales of murder, trials, pardons and undertaking, told using primary source documents. No registration required.
